Wolf Pride Marching Band Shines at Competition

The Reeds Spring High School Wolf Pride Marching Band won Outstanding General Effect at the Pride of the Ozarks Festival.
Reeds Spring High School’s marching band competed for the first time in nearly two years at the Pride of the Ozarks Festival. Last year’s marching season was canceled due to COVID-19. The Wolf Pride Band earned an award for Outstanding General Effect and second place in Class AA. The band also placed 11th overall in the finals. The band will host a competition on October 23.
Football
The Wolves lost their Homecoming game against Hollister 26-20. Evan Gross, Jace Bolin, and Andrew Snyder scored touchdowns. The team is now 3-2 on the year.
Volleyball
The Lady Wolves volleyball team beat Aurora 3-2, Cassville 3-0, and Spokane 3-0. Against Aurora, Kennedy Brown had 16 kills, Riley Sadler had eight blocks, and Amarah Porter had 33 assists. Against Cassville, Jade Watson had nine kills and Anna Voegele had four blocks. Against Spokane, Carley Kite had seven digs. At the Strafford Tournament, the team beat East Newton 2-0, tied Skyline 1-1, lost to Springfield Catholic 2-0, and lost to El Dorado Springs 2-0.
Cross Country
At Nixa, the boys cross country team finished ninth overall. Caden Chavez was the top finisher for the Wolves, in 30th place. The girls team placed fifth, with Jenna Adams finishing 28th. At East Newton, the boys placed 11th with Chavez finishing 54th. The girls were eighth with Adams placing 39th. 10 of the 11 Reeds Spring runners set personal bests at Nixa, and 12 runners set personal bests at East Newton.
Softball
The RSHS softball team won its first game of the season by beating Gainesville 6-3. Lexi Essick hit two home runs. The team lost games to Aurora 16-6 and Halfway 8-2.
Tennis
The Lady Wolves tennis team lost to Mt. Vernon 9-0, lost to Nevada 5-4, and beat Parkview 5-4. At a tournament in Joplin, the doubles team of Madison Langston and Madison Sieg won their flight.
