The Stone County Library is pleased to announce that work on the library expansion in Crane is progressing well and Phase I of the project will be completed by March. This phase includes renovation of the front of the new building. Residents are encouraged to stop by and see the improvements being made!

As the library gears up for Phase II, the internal remodeling, the library board is asking for community input. “We will have a community forum this spring for individuals to share their thoughts,” says Rebecca Payne, Director of the Stone County Library system. “In the meantime, if you have any comments or suggestions about the design of the building, please send an e-mail to info@scl.lib.mo.us, leave a message on the library Facebook page, or mail in suggestions to PO Box 225 Galena, MO.”

Additionally, hours at the twill change next month. Effective Monday, March 4, hours for the Galena branch will be as follows. 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays, the library will open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
