Two Springfield men were hurt Sunday after their motorcycles collided. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the incident occurred on Sunday, May 31, on Indian Point Road, just north of the village.

Tryine L. Starks, 29, of Springfield, was driving a 1998 Suzuki GFXR motorcycle on Indian Point Road when, at around 8:45 p.m., the vehicle failed to navigate a curve and hit the 2007 Yamaha YZ motorcycle driven by 21 year old Jorge Torres, also of Springfield. Both vehicles were heading north on the road, about one mile north of Indian Point.

Starks, who was wearing a helmet, suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

Torres, who was also wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Cox Hospital in Branson.

Both motorcycles were totalled in the crash. They were removed from the scene by Chris’s Towing, of Lampe.

This incident was investigated by Trooper C.A. Heil of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
