Two people, including a 14 year old girl, lost their lives in a single vehicle crash on Monday night, April 29, in Lampe.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Mario M. Aberle, 49, of Lampe, was driving a 1986 Ford Bronco east on Rosemary Lane.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Bronco ran off the road on a curve, went down a steep embankment and hit a tree, eventually overturning onto its top.

Reports from the Southern Stone County Fire District indicate all three people in the vehicle, 49 year old Mario, 23 year old Lars D. Aberle, and 14 year old Eden Aberle, were trapped in the vehicle and an extensive extrication process was underway at 8:20 p.m.

Lars Aberle was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries. He was reported to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

Mario and Eden Aberle were pronounced deceased at the scene by Stone County Coroner John Cunnyngham at 8:46 p.m. They are Troop D’s 28th and 29th fatalities for 2019.

They were taken to Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City.

The 1986 Ford Bronco was totaled in the crash. It was towed from the scene by Chris’s Towing of Lampe.

This incident was investigated by Corporal Choate and Crash Team 3 Sergeant Richardson with Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, with assistance from Trooper Copeland and Corporal Waters.
