The Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce announced today that Sheila Thomas, President/CEO of the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to the Cooperative Marketing Program Advisory Committee (CMPAC) of the Missouri Division of Tourism (MDT).

The CMPAC is comprised of ten members of the tourism industry as appointed by MDT for three-year terms. Committee members must be individuals who are willing to accept the high level of responsibility associated with this committee.

“It’s an honor to be appointed to this important committee and a responsibility that I fully accept,” said Thomas. “Our Chamber has excelled at tourism marketing for years. I look forward to providing insight and input not only for Stone County but the entire State of Missouri.”

A committee member must possess a high level of destination marketing and strategic planning experience.

The Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce was honored with the Marketing Campaign Award at the 2018 Missouri Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The award recognizes excellence in destination marketing. The Chamber also received a silver Adrian Award from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) in 2018 for excellence in digital marketing. In the past 5 years, the Chamber also has received numerous awards from the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri.

The CMPAC serves in an important advisory capacity to the Missouri Division of Tourism in the administration of Cooperative Marketing Programs. The committee participates in the strategic planning and evaluation processes and may be called upon to consider program policy issues from time to time.

Two members from each of the five tourism vacation regions are selected to populate the committee as evaluators and advisors. Thomas will represent the Southwest region.
