Teen dies after being rescued at Moonshine Beach

A 15-year-old Hollister boy has died after spending several minutes underwater in a drowning incident at Moonshine Beach on Table Rock Lake on July 6, 2021.
The victim became fatigued while swimming around the buoys. Witnesses searched for the boy for several minutes before they could find him and bring him to shore. First responders worked for more than fifteen minutes to regain a pulse.
The boy was transported to Cox Hospital in Branson then on to Cox South in Springfield for treatment. He was later transported to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he died on July 8, 2020.
