An 18 year old Lampe man, Kaleb J. Billings, is being held in the Stone County Jail without bond for allegedly using social media to sell a sexual encounter with a minor.
According to affidavits of probable cause, Stone County deputies responded to an address near Lampe on October 1 to reports of someone brandishing a gun.
When the deputies arrived, they made contact with Billings. Billings allegedly told them that he had listed his 17 year old girlfriend on Facebook, seeking money in exchange for sexual contact.
Billings was allegedly contacted by a stranger and the two negotiated a deal: the stranger would pay Billings $45 to have sex with Billings’ teenage girlfriend.
However, after the man arrived, the teenager reportedly backed out of the arrangement, refusing to have sex with him. This allegedly enraged the stranger, who pulled out a gun and started making threats, leading to the police being called.
The Chronicle has been unable to determine from available documents whether the authorities have spoken with or charged the man who allegedly paid to have sex with the girl.
Billings is charged with sexual trafficking of child in the second degree. He is being held without bond in the Stone County Jail. Online court records also indicate that Billings has misdemeanor charges of domestic assault in the fourth degree.
