Sparta Man Airlifted After Crash Near Marionville

A Sparta man was flown to the hospital over the weekend after being thrown from his truck in a single vehicle wreck on Missouri 14 north of Marionville in Lawrence County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, James W. Gentry, 44, of Sparta, was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger east on Highway 14 when the crash occurred just after midnight on Sunday, May 13.
The truck ran off of the road on a curve and overturned. Gentry was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt.
James Gentry had serious injuries from the crash. He was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The 2002 Ford Ranger was totalled. It was towed by Hillbilly Towing of Marionville.
This crash was investigated by Trooper K. J. Rutledge.
