Southern Stone County FPD, Others Receive Commendation For Response To Duck Boat Tragedy

Ken Hoover, outgoing president of the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri, above at right, presented President’s Awards to the chiefs of the three fire departments that responded to the sinking of a duck boat last summer.
“There have only been maybe five of these given out in our history,” Hoover said during the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District awards ceremony, which was held at Chateau on the Lake on Saturday, March 2. Hoover bestowed the awards to Keith Wolven, Chief of the Southern Stone County FPD, pictured above at left, as well as to the chiefs of the Western Taney County and Branson Fire Departments.
