Smith Sentenced In Cottage And Dock Break-Ins

James Michael Smith, 46, of Branson, was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections for theft and property damage occurring at Cardinal Cottages Highway 265, Branson, and private docks at the end of Church Drive, Kimberling City, both in Stone County. These events took place in March of this year. Smith was sentenced on Thursday, May 16, in Stone County District Court, according to a release from the Stone County Prosecutor’s Office.
Items stolen or damaged from these locations included jewelry, personal items including cell phone, camping and fishing equipment, and miscellaneous boat parts.
The law enforcement officers who aided in these investigations were Stone County Deputy Frisbie and Kimberling City Police Department Officers House and McCafferty. The Stone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office would like to thank these officers, as well as the victims who provided additional information throughout the prosecution, and also their Victim Advocate, Keisha Greene.
