The Stone County Health Department reported last week that six employees of Silver Dollar City have tested positive for COVID-19. The health department is investigating it as an outbreak. All six individuals, three of whom live in Stone County, have been quarantined at home, along with their close contacts, including other employees.
According to a press release from the health department, there were several dates of possible public exposure. All six individuals were masked while in public, keeping with Silver Dollar City’s requirement that all staff and guests where masks.
Dates of possible exposure include Wednesday, June 17, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and all day on Saturday, June 20, and June 24 through June 26.
People who were at the park on those dates are a low-risk of contracting the virus, but are encouraged to monitor for symptoms. There is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.
“Silver Dollar City currently requires all guests and staff to wear masks, making the risk of exposure very low,” said the health department.
The Stone County Health Department encourages all residents to take precautions, such as good hand washing regimens and social distancing, to help stop the spread of the virus. The CDC is also recommending a cloth face covering or mask as an additional, voluntary public health measure.
