The Stone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a suspect who reportedly backed his truck into two gas stations late last week and tried to steal ATMs.

According to a press release, the individual was driving a red Ford Ranger. The man, seen on surveilance cameras at both locations, backed the truck through the front doors of both Rantz Country Express north of Reeds Spring and the Carr Lane convenience store near the Arkansas border.

The unknown individual attempted to take the ATM from Rantz but was unable to get it out of the store. He left the scene after failing to take the machine.

He was successful in taking the ATM from the Carr Lane Country Stop, which is located at the intersections of Highways 39 and 86 south of Shell Knob. Total loss from the break-ins is unknown at this time.

The sheriff’s office requests anyone with knowledge on these events to contact Captain Porter, Dectives Choat or Duren, or to call 911.
