Shell Knob Man Charged With Elder Abuse

May 24, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
A 23 year old Shell Knob man is charged with assaulting a pregnant woman and elderly man.
According to affidavits of probable cause, used in filing charges, Alexander J. Scheuerman committed violent acts against two people on Monday, May 14. Scheuerman was arrested by Deputy Holmes of the Stone County Sheriff’s Department. Scheuerman allegedly punched a woman who is seven months pregnant in the face and neck. Scheuerman also allegedly dragged her by the hair and hit her in the back with a chain.
On the same day, Scheuerman allegedly hit a member of his family. The probable cause statement withholds specific details of this second victim, but the phrasing around the redacted sections indicates the person was a member of Scheuerman’s family. Scheuerman allegedly punched this second victim in the face with a closed fist.
Scheuerman is being held in the Stone County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bond in this case. He is charged with three counts of second degree domestic assault and one count of abuse of an elderly, disabled or vulnerable person. He is also being held on $5,000 cash or surety bond on a 2017 charge of misdemeanor domestic assault. Scheuerman will next appear before Judge Blankenship on May 29.
