Seven Injured In Crash South Of Aurora

Seven people were injured in a crash south of Aurora on Sunday evening, February 23. Around 9:05 p.m., a GMC pickup crashed into a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe after failing to stop at a stop sign. The injuries ranged from minor to serious. 


According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the pickup was driven by a 15 year old female from Galena. The Tahoe, driven by John R. Brooks, 33, of Cassville, was southbound on MO 39 about two miles south of Aurora when the pickup failed to stop at a stop sign on Farm Road 2010. The pickup hit the Tahoe’s front driver side and both vehicles ran off the highway. 


There were four people in the pickup, all of whom were ejected during the crash. The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Two occupants in the vehicle were also transported to Mercy Hospital. Shawn L. Hair, 21, of Billings, was taken for minor injuries and Cody G. Lomax, 17, of Crane, was seriously injured. The fourth person in the vehicle was also seriously injured. Jacob A. Hair, 22, of Billings, was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. 


The Tahoe had two passengers, a juvenile one year old male and 35 year old Lindsay J. Brooks, of Cassville. John and Lindsay Brooks suffered moderate injuries in the crash. The one year old suffered minor injuries. All three were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. 


All three people in the Tahoe were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. 


Both the Tahoe and the GMC pickup were totaled in the crash. The Tahoe was towed form the scene by Brice’s Towing, of Cassville, and the pickup was towed from the scene by Hillbilly’s Wrecker.
