Serious Injuries In Wreck At Old Wire Road

July 5, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
A 29 year old man from Springfield suffered serious injuries over the weekend after hitting a truck making a turn. The motorcyclist was reportedly attempting to pass several vehicles.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, Lesley W. Seastrom, 29, of Springfield, was driving a 2013 Honda Shadow motorcycle north on Highway 413 north of Crane when the crash occurred on Sunday, July 1, just before 6 p.m.
According to the report, Seastrom was attempting to pass several vehicles that had slowed. As he was attempting to pass them, he hit a 2006 Dodge 2500 truck, driven by Casey J. Ellingsworth, of Aurora, who was turning left onto Old Wire Road.
Seastrom, who was not wearing a safety device, had serious injuries from the crash. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. The 2013 Honda Shadow was totaled and left at the scene. Ellingsworth’s Dodge had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
