A Rockaway Beach woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries Monday afternoon after allegedly driving while intoxicated and running off of Highway 86.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Delores J. McNealy, 42, of Rockaway Beach, was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer east on Missouri 86 near Blue Eye when the wreck occurred on Monday, December 2.

The report states that, at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Explorer ran off the right side of the highway four miles east of Blue Eye.

The driver reportedly overcorrected and the Ford Explorer ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Delores McNealy, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, suffered serious injuries in the crash. She was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol requested the following charges or citations be filed against McNealy. She is alleged to have committed DWI, careless and imprudent driving and was cited for not wearing a seat belt.

The 2005 Ford Explorer was totaled in the crash. It was removed from the scene by Ozark Mountain Towing.

This incident was investigated by Cpl. R. W. Clement with assistance from Trooper T. A. Bible, both of Missouri State Highway Patrol.
