Semi Wreck Shuts Down Part Of Highway 86 Last Wednesday

A semi-truck crash shut down Highway 86 northeast of Blue Eye for several hours on Wednesday, April 29. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. after the truck ran off the road.
According to the report, Jimmy J. Yarberry, 24, of Billings, was driving a 2020 Freightliner west on 86 when the incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 86 with State Route JJ. The semi reportedly ran off the right side of the road and hit a ditch then returned to the road, where it started to skid. The driver overcorrected and the semi overturned onto the roadway. According to a post from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, the semi was on its side for some time and the roadway was reopened around 3 p.m.
The driver of the semi, Yarberry, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was taken by ambulance to Cox Branson Hospital for treatment.
The 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer was totaled in the crash. It was removed from the scene by Double Eagle Towing.
This incident was investigated by Trooper J. Linegar of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
