Second COVID-19 death announced

August 26, 2020
   Stone County Health Department (SCHD) is saddened to announce Stone County’s second confirmed COVID-19 death. Our thoughts go out to the family during this difficult time. The patient, a woman in her 60’s, has been monitored over the last two weeks and did have underlying medical conditions. She has been in quarantine since testing positive.

   SCHD is also announcing Stone County’s first cases of Covid-19 in a Long Term care facility. There are eight cases associated with the Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare facility in Crane. There are currently four staff members and four residents who have tested positive. SCHD will continue to monitor this situation very closely.

   Stone County currently has 67 Active Cases, 194 Cases have recovered and two deaths. The total case count for Stone County is 263.
The health department encourages all residents to take appropriate precautions such as good hand hygiene, wearing a cloth face covering and social distancing. If you are sick stay home and call your provider, emergency room, urgent care, emergency personnel or health department before seeking medical attention.
