Scott Tech Students Receive Awards and Scholarships

         Scott Tech students received scholarships and awards at the 22nd annual Recognition Nights held May 1 and May 3 at Scott Regional Technology Center. Seventy-five students received Passport portfolios. To meet the requirements for this honor a student must complete one of the fourteen programs and maintain a ‘B’ average both years while missing no more than 6 days in attendance per school year during the course of the program. 
         Seniors recently completed the National Career Readiness Test. Seven received platinum classification, eighteen received a gold, 70 Silver and 45 Bronze. These credentials will prepare students for the workforce.
         Several scholarships were issued in addition to the credentials and honors received in each program. Evan Still and Jaime Aguinaga, both Auto Technology Students received a $300 Scholarship from Cassville Cruisers. Jay Fields, a passport recipient from Welding Technology went home with a welding machine, welding tool kit and $1500 Scholarship from Missouri Welding Institute and Lincoln Electric. Ashlynn Howe received an $800 scholarship and Ruby Vela received a $400, both Health Occupations students and recipients of the Crowder College Career and Technical Center Scholarship. Health Occupations students Shelby Ellingsworth and Dalton Burton received $250 scholarships from Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. Edgar Aguilar and Madison Bentley both received the Monett Hospital Clinical Excellence Award and both received a Littman Stethoscope. JROTC student, Sam Masri, received a three year ROTC scholarship from the University is Dallas. The Missouri STEM Foundation scholarship recipients were Keith Butler, Jacob Bouchard, and Katelyn Anderson. 
         ​The two-night event was a showcase of the committed students who attend Scott Tech and the community that supports them.
