Salem Man Hurt After Medical Incident While Driving

A Salem, Mo., man was hurt in Stone County over the weekend. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Gilbert E. Shaw suffered a medical episode and ran off the road near Kimberling City.
According to the report, Shaw, 73, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado east on Joe Bald Road when the incident occurred on Saturday, August 11, just after 8 a.m.
Shaw reportedly suffered a medical episode and ran off the right side of the road. The truck hit a utility pole then went down an embankment.
Shaw, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado had moderate damages. It was towed by Chris’ Towing of Lampe.
This incident was investigated by Trooper A. K. Buff of the Missouri State Highway patrol Troop D.
