RSHS Freshman Volleyball Team Wins Tournament

PictureThe RSHS freshman volleyball team won the Cassville Tournament last weekend.
Reeds Spring High School’s freshman volleyball team won the Cassville Tournament last weekend. The Lady Wolves defeated Nevada in the championship match. The team also had wins against McDonald County, Cassville and Aurora.

The varsity team had two wins last week. They beat Cassville 2-0, with nine digs from Amarah Porter and six kills by Carley Reeves-Eakins and they beat Spokane 2-0. Bella Fuller had 11 digs in that match and Porter added 17 assists.

Tennis

The Lady Wolves tennis team competed against Mt. Vernon and Clever last week. RSHS lost to Mt. Vernon 9-0 and lost to Clever 5-4. Against Clever, the doubles team of Ashlyn Shafer and Olivia Giebler won, to go with singles wins by Sophia Brown, Olivia Giebler and Madison Ball.

Football

The Wolves defeated Springfield Catholic 28-15 to move to 3-2 on the year. Colton Cramblett rushed for 133 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns. On defense, the Wolves forced four turnovers. Adam Lewis returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown. Matt Allison and Nate Cerny also had interceptions and Tony Leal caused a fumble recovered by Caden Wiest. The Wolves host Hollister on Friday, October 4.

Softball

The Lady Wolves beat Mansfield 15-0, Aurora 17-0 and East Newton 5-1. Against Mansfield, Izzy Erickson went 4-4 with a double, triple and two singles. Brooke Davis was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters. Maddison Cantrell added a home run.

Cross Country

At Nixa, the Wolves finished ninth overall. Cole Weydert finished 40th, Evan Brandsma was 53rd, Tanner Hirschi 64th, Ethan Gordon 72nd and Thomas Pinion 75th.
