Route Y Resurfacing Starts Next Week

September 26, 2019
Picture
Drivers can expect one-lane traffic and crews and equipment on Route Y west of Reeds Spring when contractor crews resurface the state route starting the week of September 30.

Route Y will receive a new asphalt driving surface between Missouri Route 76 and the end of state maintenance west of Reeds Spring. The total length of the project is eight (8) miles.

The project also includes adding a centerline rumble strip. The rumble strips, an important safety feature, alert drivers when they are crossing the centerline of the roadway.

During the road work, drivers can expect slowed and, possibly, stopped traffic with flaggers directing them through the work zone.

Crews also will use a pilot vehicle to lead traffic through work areas. Drivers on side roads should wait for the pilot vehicle before entering the roadway where the resurfacing work is taking place.

Journagan Construction Company of Springfield is doing the work for a low bid amount of $720,409.

The project is scheduled for completion in mid-October.
