Road Improvements Set For Galena, Starting This Week

August 16, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
The City of Galena announced this week that several roadways would see improvement work.
According to Lisa Chambers, Galena City Clerk, 2nd Street and South Main, South Maple, South Carr and West 5th and South Carr/ 5th to Pine streets will be worked on in August.
Stephens and Son received the contract for the work.
This will be a cold mix poured over what is already there, said Chambers. Some additional work will be required in a couple of locations, where the roadway will need to be cleaned up before the cold mix can be laid.
While this work is being completed, the city requests the patience of drivers and their awareness while people are out working.
