Reeds Spring teen among injured in wreck north of Aurora

January 4, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
A wreck in Lawrence County last week sent three to the hospital after a vehicle crossed the center line and hit another.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Jennifer L. Lampe, 38, of Mount Vernon, was driving a 2007 Ford Fusion south on Missouri 39 when the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a 2012 Toyota Sequoia driven by 53 year old Matthias E. Amberg, of Reeds Spring. The collision happened about four miles north of Aurora, at 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27.
The report states that both vehicles came to rest on the east side of the roadway, with Lampe’s continuing south and going off the left side of the road and Amberg’s continuing north and going off the right side.
Jennifer Lampe sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by Mercy EMS. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Matthias Amberg sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by Mercy EMS. He was not wearing a seatbelt. A 17 year old male passenger in Amberg’s Sequoia was also not wearing a seatbelt. He sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital by Mercy EMS.
The 2007 Ford Fusion was totaled in the crash. The 2012 Toyota Sequoia had extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed by Stop and Shop Towing of Mount Vernon.
This crash was investigated by Trooper B. L. Butler.
