The Reeds Spring School District has hired Dr. Cody Hirschi to be its next superintendent. School board members voted unanimously to approve Hirschi after conducting a nationwide search and thoroughly screening 38 candidates.

Dr. Hirschi is currently the superintendent of the Mid-Buchanan School District in Faucett, Missouri, and previously served as superintendent of the Pettis County School District in Hughesville.

“After carefully considering all of the input from parents, the community, and staff, the board felt that Dr. Hirschi was an excellent fit for the Reeds Spring School District,” said school board president Earl Johnson. “He’s genuine, enthusiastic, and a good communicator.”

While conducting the superintendent search, the school board gathered input from parents, community members, and staff through an online survey and several community forums. The most-desired leadership quality was ethics and integrity in actions and decision-making. The most-desired skill was experience motivating staff and students, improving morale, and generating enthusiasm.

“I’m very humbled and honored to serve the students, staff, and patrons of the Reeds Spring School District,” said Dr. Hirschi. “Reeds Spring is an amazing district with a great reputation, and I feel blessed to join this community. My family has searched for a destination district, someplace where we can establish roots. We think Reeds Spring is that place.”

Dr. Hirschi has a Doctor of Education, Education Specialist, Master’s, and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Lindenwood University. Dr. Hirschi and his wife, Amy, have six children.
