Reeds Spring food drive helps 84 families

January 4, 2018
The Reeds Spring School District collected thousands of pounds of food items during its annual food drive. All of that food was distributed to 84 local families in need on Wednesday, December 20.
Each building in the district collected different food items. Some buildings chose to have competitions between classes to collect the most food, while others offered rewards for the total amount collected. For example, Reeds Spring Middle School brought in 3,258 items, so students shaved the head of science teacher Derik Hobbs, decorated science teacher Kim Howard like a cookie, and science teacher Truman Jones dressed up like a human Christmas tree.
The district would like to thank all of the students and their families who donated, and the businesses in the community that donated as well.
