Reeds Spring Man Charged With Statutory Rape

          A 25 year old Reeds Spring man is accused of statutory rape after allegedly having illicit relations with a minor, starting when the child was 13.
          According to affidavits of probable cause, used in filing charges, Jacob J. Marxen is facing three separate charges relating to the alleged encounters. The cause statement says that the minor victim was interviewd at the Lakes Area Child Advocacy Center in August. During that interview, the victim reportedly disclosed that she had intercourse with Marxen several times over the course of several years. 
          The first act allegedly took place when the victim was only 13 years old and Marxen was at least 21.Marxen is alleged to have continued having relations with the victim until this summer, during which time they allegedly also smoked marijuana. 
          ​Marxen was arrested on Tuesday, August 21. He is charged with statutory rape in the first degree and two counts of statutory rape in the second degree. He is being held in the Stone County Jail in lieu of $35,000 cash-only bond.
