Reeds Spring Lady Wolves Take Consolation Trophy

PictureThe RSHS Lady Wolves won the consolation bracket of the Southwest Holiday Tournament.
The Reeds Spring High School girls basketball team competed in the Southwest Holiday Tournament in late December. RSHS lost the opening round game to East Newton 52-46. Next, the Lady Wolves beat Southwest 51-22. In the consolation bracket final, RSHS beat Marionville 62-46. Senior Carley Reeves-Eakins was named to the All-Tournament Team.


Last week, Springfield Catholic defeated RSHS 53-32. Brooke Davis led the team with 12 points.


Boys Basketball


The RSHS boys basketball team competed in Springfield’s Blue and Gold Tournament. After losing to Skyline 58-40, the Wolves beat Aurora 66-54 and Mountain Grove 55-35. In the consolation bracket championship, the Wolves fell to West Plains 46-33. Al Chavez was leading scorer in two games and Ty Cooper was the leading scorer in the other two games.


Last week, the Wolves lost to East Newton 58-36. Lance Hafar led the team with 16 points.


Wrestling


The RSHS girls wrestling team competed in the McDonald County Tournament in late December. Lexi Harris finished first in her weight class. The boys competed in the Kinloch Classic in Springfield earlier this month. Chase Johnson finished sixth in the 120-pound weight class. The Wolves also hosted Ozark and Carthage last week and lost both matches.
