Reeds Spring Lady Wolves Improve On Season

The Reeds Spring High School volleyball team split a pair of matches last week, beating Monett 2-0 and losing to Clever 2-0. In the Monett match, Ellie Silvius had eight digs, Carley Reeves-Eakins had five kills and Amarah Porter added 15 assists. The team’s record is 5-2-1.


Softball


The RSHS softball team won its home tournament. In the first game, the Lady Wolves defeated Ava 9-0. Brooke Davis pitched a no-hitter. Against East Newton, Izzy Erickson threw a no-hitter and the Lady Wolves won 3-0. RSHS also defeated Cassville 10-4. Earlier in the week, the Lady Wolves lost to Kickapoo, McDonald County and Rogersville. The team’s record is 5-3.


Tennis


The girls tennis team had a busy week. They lost to Lamar 8-1 and to Springfield Catholic 8-1. However, senior Julia Wright had the first Reeds Spring individual win over a Springfield Catholic player in several years! The team defeated Hillcrest 6-3 on Senior Night. Seniors


Julia Wright, Brittany Baldwin and Madison Ball were recognized. On Saturday, the Wolves placed fourth in the Forsyth Panther Tennis Tournament.


Cross Country


At the Carthage Invitational, Reeds Spring freshman Evan Brandsma placed 43rd and Cole Weydert was 44th. The team was eighth overall.


Football


The Wolves improved to 2-1 on the season with a 19-7 victory at Logan-Rogersville. JT Bayliff and Sean Gross had rushing touchdowns and Colton Cramblett returned an interception for a score. RSHS hosts Mt. Vernon on Friday, September 20.
