August 5, 2020

The Stone County Health Department reported last week that an individual associated with the Reeds Spring Boys and Girls Club has tested positive for COVID-19. The location has not closed
The positive individual has been quarantined and will not return until the appropriate quarantine period has passed, and symptoms have resolved. Close contacts of the individual have been quarantined for the CDC recommended period of 14 days from their last date of exposure. If you have not been contacted, you are not considered a close contact and there is no need to quarantine.
Reeds Spring Boys and Girls Club have processes in place to reduce the risk of exposure to the whole club. Students are in one classroom and do not share community space. Currently the Stone County Health Department is not recommending closure due to the limited exposure. The risk of exposure is low and people who were at this location on July 24th, 2020 are at low risk for contracting COVID-19 but should monitor for symptoms. If you have not been contacted there is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks, which oversees the club in Reeds Spring, released their after school programming plans for this fall. “Reeds Spring will serve Kindergarten through 6th grade (chidren must be 6) on Tuesdays through Fridays” at the elementary school, said the group. Club staff will wear masks and masks for participants will follow the school’s recommendations. “Club staff will submit to a temperature screen upon arrival; members showing two or more symptoms of COVID-19 that are not otherwise explained will be sent home,” stated an informational handout on the Boys and Girls Club’s plans.
“Enrollment for current members will be accepted beginning Monday August 3rd. We will open enrollment to the general public Monday August 10th. We will have daily building capacities, so please do not wait to sign up. Once your application has been received it will be reviewed and you will be notified if your child(ren) are on the roster or on the waiting list. Spots are limited for each age group,” the group said in a post.
The Stone County Health Department encourages everyone to take precautions including hand washing and wearing masks when unable to socially distance.
