Daytime drivers going from the northern part of Stone County to the south next week will need to take an alternate route because MoDOT will close Highway 248 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26.
According to a press release, MoDOT crews will be taking soil and rock samples near the Railey Creek bridge in preparation for the bridge’s replacement next year. In order to take these samples, the road will have to be closed in both directions.
Drivers will be able to get to road and business entrances on either side of the closing, but will not be able to go over the bridge until workers have cleared the area each day, hopefully by 3 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes during the daytime hours.
