Program on coping with anxiety and depression at the Crane Library

February 4, 2021
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwest Missouri and the Stone County Library Crane branch are collaborating to bring a monthly program to residents in the area. Beginning on February 16, 2021 at 1 PM, a representative from NAMI will host an informal group session at the library to talk about depression, anxiety, peer support, coping methods, and resources.
According to the World Health Organization, 264 million Americans suffer from depression and/or anxiety. Depression is the leading cause of disability in the country. Due to high healthcare costs and often because it’s hard for some rural residents to get to Springfield or another town, many people aren’t aware of ways to manage depression or anxiety.
NAMI attempts to bring its mental health workshop to residents in and around Stone County every 3rd Tuesday of the month. You may register for the workshop by emailing addie@namiswmo.org with your first name and telephone number. Signing up is not required, but leaving this information allows the group director to inform people of cancellations due to weather.
For more information, you may send an email to above email address or contact Crane Library at 417-723-8261.
