A reportedly pregnant woman from Branson and a man from Branson West were arrested on Wednesday, May 3, after allegedly being found with methamphetamine and marijuana in their vehicle.
Tiffani Leann Hicks, 25, of Branson and Joseph L. Delong, of Branson West, 34, were stopped by Stone County Sheriff’s Deputy Algya at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3. According to statements of probable cause, used in filing charges against them, Algya stopped the vehicle because it was allegedly displaying incorrect registration. The deputy reported that he made contact with Delong, who was driving the vehicle. Algya alleges he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and thus conducted a search. Hicks allegedly had a bag of marijuana on her person. She also allegedly told the deputy that she had smoked marijuana shortly before she and Delong were pulled over.
Inside of the vehicle, the deputy reportedly discovered a case containing meth, multiple syringes, baggies and a scale. The case was allegedly in the front passenger seat area, near the console, where Hicks was sitting. Delong allegedly told Algya that he did not know the drugs were in the vehicle but wished to claim them as his own.
Delong and Hicks were placed under arrest. They are both charged with possession of a controlled substance. Hicks faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana. Both Hicks and Delong are being held in the Stone County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond, each.
