Stone Co.  Online Property  Assessment New for 2018

January 11, 2018

Residents of Stone County have the option to file their personal property tax assessment forms online for the first time this year.
Stone County Assessor Brad Hudson announced Monday, January 8, that the online assessment tool was ready and that all forms had been mailed to property owners.
By March 1, all owners or holders of personal property in Stone County must report all taxable property owned on January 1, 2018 to the county. Those not filing a completed list by March 1 are subject to a penalty ranging from $15 to $105, depending on the value of the property.
Rather than just filling out a form and mailing it in, Stone County tax payers this year have the ability file online. On the upper right side of the assessment form, taxpayers will find a unique PIN. Taxpayers can go to www.stonecountyassessor.net and enter that PIN to electronically fill out the assessment form.
“I’m very pleased that we are able to offer this fast, easy and convenient service to our friends and neighbors in Stone County,” Hudson said. “I’ve wanted to do this for awhile now and am glad to say it’s finally here. I filed online myself last week and it worked great! This is just one more way we are working to modernize local government while saving more money for you the taxpayer,” Hudson said.
Taxpayers who would like assistance in filling out the form or have any questions are encouraged to call the Assessor’s office at (417) 357-6141, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
