Crash Report Graphic
April 11, 2019

A Springfield man was taken to the hospital over the weekend after crashing on Hootentown Road in northern Stone County. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Garret D. Murphy, 24, of Springfield, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala north on Hootentown Road when the crash occurred just after midnight on Saturday, April 6.

The report states the vehicle was traveling too fast for conditions and ran off the right side of the road at around 12:15 a.m. The vehicle reportedly slid into a tree.

Murphy suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was not wearing a safety device. He was taken by family members to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
