One Dies In 4-Wheeler Wreck

Stacia V. Barnett, 29, of Marionville, passed away after a 4-wheeler and motorcycle collided at the end of September. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the incident occurred on Sunday, September 30, at 2:15 a.m. south of Marionville.
The report states that Stacia Barnett was driving a 2003 Suzuki 4-wheeler on south on Lawrence County Road 1230 when the incident occurred. The Suzuki was hit from behind by an unknown year Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Joseph I. Barnett, 28, of Marionville.
When the motorcycle hit the 4-wheeler, both drivers were thrown from their vehicles. Neither driver was wearing a safety device.
Stacia Barnett was pronounced deceased at 3:00 a.m. by Mercy Hospital Dr. Spencer at the scene. She was Troop D’s 98th traffic fatality for 2018. Her body was taken to Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
Joseph Barnett suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. As required by law, he was tested for alcohol. The results of that test were not included in the crash report.
Both the Yamaha motorcycle and Suzuki 4-wheeler were totaled in the crash. They were both towed by Hillbilly’s Towing, of Marionville.
This incident was investigated by Trooper J. B. May with assistance from Trooper Yingling with MCIU.
