A Branson West man lost his life in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 44 in Lawrence County early Friday morning, May 10. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Robert A. Addington-Wells, 37, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

The report indicates Michael T. Biggs, 51, of Reeds Spring, was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram east on the interstate when the crash occurred at 5:09 a.m. about six miles east of Mount Vernon.

The truck went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Robert Addington-Wells was pronounced deceased at 5:44 a.m. by Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin. He was wearing a seat belt. His body was transported to Laken Funeral Home in Pierce City. This is Troop D’s 33rd fatality for 2019.

Michael Biggs suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
