A 50 year old Kimberling City man lost his life in a single vehicle crash over the weekend. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, John S. Lawyer was driving a Honda ATV on Red Oak Lane in Kimberling City when the vehicle overturned on a hill.

According to the report, Lawyer was driving a 2017 Honda Rubicon all-terrain vehicle west on Red Oak Lane when, after midnight on Sunday, November 17, the ATV overturned.

Lawyer was thrown from the vehicle during the crash, but the ATV landed on him. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Mercy Dr. James Orlando at 1:20 a.m.

This is Troop D’s 101st fatality for 2019. Lawyer’s body was taken to Stumpff Funeral Home in Kimberling City.

The ATV had minor damage. It was left at the scene and was removed some time later by the family.

This incident was investigated by Trooper A. K. Buff.
