One Arrested After Burglary Interrupted In Lampe

February 20, 2020
A Lampe man was arrested last week after he was reportedly interrupted during the course of a burglary on Line Ridge Road.

According to a statement of probable cause filed by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Dalton Gideon, 21, along with another person, was seen breaking into a residence in Lampe by a neighbor. When the neighbor tried to talk to the alleged burglars, they ran into the woods, leaving a truck behind at the scene.

That truck is reportedly registered to Dalton Gideon and he had been seen driving it recently.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they reportedly found thousands of dollars worth of items had been stolen or removed from where the owners left it. This includes an ATV that had the ignition tampered with.

Officers received a search warrant for the truck that was abandoned at the scene. Inside, they allegedly found several items belonging to Gideon, at least one item reported stolen from the residence, and burglary tools, including bolt cutters and a homemade tool for opening locked doors.

Dalton Gideon was arrested and booked into the Stone County Jail on Thursday, February 13. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond. He is charged with burglary, stealing and possession of burglary tools
