Unofficial Results: April 2 2019 Municipal Election

The April 2019 Municipal Election saw 2,030 Stone County voters turn out to the polls, or just under 9%, according to the unofficial Statement of Votes Cast, provided by the Stone County Clerk’s office.
In both the Crane and Branson West mayoral races, the incumbents bested their challengers and will remain in office another two years.
In the Crane race, Collin Brannan secured 156 of the 221 votes cast in the election. Challenger John Godfrey received 65 votes, or around 29%.
Branson West’s Donna Hardesty got 74 of the 96 votes cast in that race. Challenger Robert Smith received 23% of the votes with 22 ballots cast in his favor.
Hurley School District’s bond measure, Tiger Upgrades, was approved by voters. Work on upgrades to the school’s roof, exterior and security will begin soon. Voters approved the measure with 112 votes for the proposition and 40 against. The bond measure secures $400,000 in funding for the improvements without increasing the tax levy.
Voters in Kimberling City approved that city’s request to not hold elections when candidates are running unopposed. Voters approved the measure with 158 votes for and 58 against.
