Multiple Bears Qualify for State Archery

State Qualifiers (L-R): Cameron Sartin, Hunter Chase, Colby Stacey, and Ty McKnight.

The Galena Bears have a young team this year. The Bears have four high school archers who have qualified for state individually. Senior, Hunter Chase and Sophomore, Cameron Sartin have both qualified for Bullseye and 3D. Senior, Colby Stacy has qualified for 3D and Sophomore, Ty McKnight has qualified for Bullseye. On March 6th, Chase and Stacy both shot at a 3D tournament for the very first time. Stacy shot a 264 and Chase shot a 257. Sartin, having experience shooting a 3D tournament before, shot a 273.
At Chase’s very first bullseye tournament of the season, January 16th,  he shot a 290, which immediately qualified him for state. McKnight qualified for state later on at a home tournament, January 30th, shooting a 275. Cameron Sartin would qualify on February 19th at Billings with a 276. This will be Chase’s 5th time going to state.
The Bears are sad that Chase and Stacy will be leaving the archery program. However they hope that they have left a positive impact on the younger archers to come. A quote from the coach, Emma Childers, “I am so proud of the archers who have made it to state. They have worked very hard to get to this point.”
