Motorcyclist Hurt After Hitting Deer

A Clever man was hurt over the weekend after hitting a deer with his motorcycle. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Robert G. Dowell, 34, of Clever, was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle on Missouri Highway 14 in the early morning of Saturday, July 11. 


According to the report, the motorcycle was heading east on Highway 14 east of Clever when, at around 4:50 a.m., the vehicle hit a deer. 


Dowell was reportedly wearing a safety device at the time of the collision. He sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by EMS for treatment.


The 2006 Yamaha motorcycle had minor damage from the crash. It was towed by Double Eagle Towing.
