Motorcycle crash hurts Marionville man

A Marionville man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries over the weekend after his motorcycle ran off the highway.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Ronnie L. Keithley, 59, of Marionville, was driving a 2007 YAMAHA XVS 1300A motorcycle on Missouri Highway 39 when the incident occurred on Sunday, August 23.
According to the report, Keithley was driving the motorcycle north on the highway when, at approximately 3:25 p.m., the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the highway. The vehicle hit a tree and threw the driver from the machine. The crash happened about eight miles west of Lampe.
Keithley, who was using a safety device at the time of the crash, suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The 2007 YAMAHA XVS 1300A motorcycle was totaled in the crash. The MSHP crash report indicates it was self-towed from the scene.
