Marionville Woman, Cassville Man Injured In Republic Crash

Two people from the area were hurt in a July 31 crash outside of Republic. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Justin L. Schmidt, 30, of Cassville, and Crystal L. Mobbley, 28, of Marionville, were hurt after the vehicle they were in ran off Missouri Highway 174.
According to the report, Schmidt was driving a 1992 Ford Ranger west on Missouri 174 about 3 miles west of Republic when the crash occurred at around 7 a.m.
The Ranger ran off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and was propelled into the air across the highway. The truck overturned and hit a ditch before coming to a stop on the passenger side.
Crystal Mobbley sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Justin Schmidt suffered serious injuries. Neither party was wearing a seat belt. They were both transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
The 1992 Ford Ranger was totaled in the crash. It was towed from the scene by Republic Towing.
This incident was investigated by Trooper A.J. Kahler in Greene County.
