A Marionville woman and a one year old child were hurt in a crash Sunday morning near Browns Spring. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report and an arrest report, Kayla M. Ayres, 27, of Marionville, was driving south on Blackjack School Road when the incident occurred on Sunday, May 10. She was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Ayres suffered serious injuries in the crash. The child had minor injuries. According to the crash report, Ayers was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix south on Blackjack School Road when, at approximately 6 a.m., the car ran off the roadway and hit a tree.

Both Ayres and the one year old were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Both were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by EMS for treatment.

Prior to being released for medical transport, according to the unofficial online Highway Patrol arrest report, the Missouri State Highway Patrol requested a charge of driving while intoxicated against Ayres.

The 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix was totaled in the crash. It was towed from the scene by Double Eagle Towing.

This incident was investigated by Sgh. Rowe of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D.
