Marionville Man Sentenced To Prison For Thefts

October 17, 2019
Isaac Estes-Jones

Nicholas H. Walker, 23, of Marionville, was sentenced to six years with the Missouri Department of Corrections for his role in two thefts in Stone County. Walker pleaded guilty to a felony charge of stealing $750 or more in relation to a recovered stolen ATV in September.

Walker appeared in Stone County Courts on Monday, October 7, and entered his plea. He had previously pleaded to a charge of stealing a motor vehicle earlier in the year. In that case, he was sentenced to probation, which has since been revoked.

On September 14, Stone County Sheriff’s Deputies searched an address on Campclark Hill, near Galena. Duirng that search, they discovered a 2019 Polaris UTV. The vehicle was stolen from Southwest Missouri Cycle the previous day, according to affidavits of probable cause from the case.

While continuing their search, deputies later located Nicholas Walker on the same property. According to the probable cause statement, Walker admitted to stealing the Polaris.

A Facebook post from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office at the time the Polaris was recovered indicated Walker was a suspect in other thefts. At this time, no additional charges have been filed against him in Stone County.

In August, Walker entered a guilty plea for a charge of stealing a motor vehicle from January 2019. Walker was initially sentenced to five years of supervised probation. That probation is revoked and Walker will serve six years concurrently for both the January and September charges.

Walker is also facing two counts of stealing a motor vehicle in Lawrence County, according to online court records. He was most recently ordered to appear in Lawrence County courts on Tuesday, October 15. As of presstime, online court records have not been updated to indicate the outcome of this hearing.
