Marching Band Earns 12 Awards In One Day

October 24, 2019
The Reeds Spring High School Wolf Pride Marching Band recently returned from two competitions with a table full of trophies.

At the Ozarko Marching Festival at Missouri State University, Reeds Spring finished first in the Maroon Class, and received six caption awards, meaning they were judged to be best in the categories of Outstanding Visual, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Soloist, Outstanding Drum Major, Outstanding Color Guard, and Outstanding Percussion. During the finals, RSHS finished fifth overall and again received the caption award for Outstanding Soloist.

At the Valhalla Marching Band Festival at Parkview High School, RSHS finished second in Class C and earned two caption awards, for Outstanding Visual and Oustanding Soloist. The band also advanced to the finals but did not perform due to inclement weather.

The Wolf Pride Marching Band also hosted the Ozark Music Marching Festival on Saturday, October 12. 25 bands performed, and approximately 4,000 people visited the Reeds Spring campus.

The band will finish up the competitive season on Saturday, October 26, at the Neewollah Marching Festival in Independence, Kansas.
