Man Allegedly Caught Stealing From Home Charged

June 28, 2018
Isaac Estes-Jones
A 35 year old Reeds Spring man was arrested on Thursday, June 21, after he was reportedly found burglarizing a residence off of DD Highway in Stone County.
According to affidavits of probable cause and a press release from Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader, Kory Presley was found on the back deck of a residence off of DD Highway at around 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. Deputies were dispatched after a call came in about a burglary in progress.
After taking Presley into custody, deputies conducted further investigation at his residence. According to the press release, “stolen property from at least two different burglaries, stolen firearms and drugs were located during the search.” Presley allegedly consented to the search and told the deputies that he had stolen some of the property in the room. The report also states that a follow-up investigation with the Marine Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol led to the recovery of a stolen personal watercraft (e.g. a waverunner or jetski).
As of presstime on Tuesday, June 26, online court records indicate that Presley has only been charged with the burglary of the home off of DD Highway. For that case, he has a charge of second degree burglary. He is currently being held in the Stone County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or surety bond.
The sheriff’s press release also indicates that a 40 year old woman from Branson was taken into custody a short time after Presley, also in connection with the burglary. As of presstime, no charges had been filed against her and she was released from a 24 hour investigatory hold.
