Local CAP Members Attend Missouri Wing Conference

The 2018 Missouri Wing Conference was held on October 19-21 at the Radisson Hotel in Branson, MO. Table Rock Lake Composite Squadron 147, the local squadron of Civil Air Patrol was well represented with 18 members present.
The annual Wing Conference is a time for socializing with other Civil Air Patrol members in the state of Missouri, as well as being singled out for outstanding performance in different areas.
Awards presented to Squadron 147 are as follows:
Colonel Gene Hartman, Major Bob Redfield and Squadron Commander 1st Lieutenant Stephen Meinzen were presented National Commander’s Commendation Awards for their outstanding duty performance in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
Lieutenant Colonel Tom Martin, received the Incident Command Staff Member of 2017 Region Award.
Squadron 147 was awarded the Quality Cadet Unit Award for the 2nd consecutive year.
Chaplain Mark Lenneville was awarded Squadron Chaplain of the Year.
Major Lin Redfield received the Wing Historian of the Year Award.
Major Bob Redfield was awarded Property Manager of 2017 Region Award.
Lieutenant Colonel Chuck Stone was presented the Gill Robb Wilson Award for completing the National Staff College in 2018.
Major Lanna Fletcher, 2nd Lieutenant Stephen Lind, 1st Lieutenant Stephen Meinzen, Lieutenant Colonel Tom Martin and Major Lin Redfield received Wing Certificates of Appreciation.
Congratulations to all of the members of Squadron 147 who were singled out and presented awards and commendations for their commitment and devotion to serving their community, state and nation. Good job to all.
Squadron 147 meets every Thursday evening from 6:30 – 8:39 pm at Branson Regional Airport in Hollister. If there is a fifth Thursday in the month, there is no meeting for Senior Members. Adults of all ages and youth from 12-18 years of age are encouraged to become a part of Civil Air Patrol. Come visit with us and see how you can be of service to your community, state and nation. Civil Air Patrol, the longtime all-volunteer U.S. Air Force auxiliary, is the newest member of the Air Force’s Total Force. In this role, CAP performs about 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 80 lives annually. ]. In addition, CAP plays a leading role in aerospace/STEM education, and its members serve as mentors to over 25,000 young people participating in CAP’s Cadet Programs.
