Local Church Reaches Out to Community

June 14, 2018
I am the Hurley Methodist Church and I am 115 years old. What should be a celebration of faithful service is being marred by the possibility of having to close my door forever. My congregation is struggling to keep me open, but they need helpers.
Are you looking for a place where you can still sit in pews and hear the word of God read from the King James Bible? Do you like to sing songs out hymnals (we only have a piano, but would welcome any instrument), we only know the old hymns but perhaps you could teach us some new ones. Would you like to share your joys and ask for prayer for your concerns and know that they will be prayed for throughout the week and not just for a few minutes on Sunday morning? I invite you to join us on Sunday morning, my door opens at 9:15 for Sunday School and my service starts at 10:00. It doesn’t matter what denomination you might have begun as, we will welcome you. If you don’t know where I am, I’m located directly behind Homestead Park in Hurley.
